Choices

It occured to me today that America has been in afghanistan nearly as long as Vietnam. Notice I did not refer to either conflict as a 'war.'

I don't know exactly how many people from my high school class of 172 went into the military, or how many are in this war, or how many have died there. I don't think I want to know.

War is hell. Especially when it is a war we have no business fighting in the first place. I could maybe, almost see the beginning of a justification for being there - if it wasn't for the fact that our CIA trained the ragheads that allegedly carried out the 9/11 attacks in the firs place.

Notice I said allegedly. I have mixed feelings about 9/11. I don't think enough accurate information is available to really know what did happen that day. What I do know for sure is that we do not know 'the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth' about 9/11 and who knew - and did - what, when.

But I digress. This post isn't about 9/11, or even Afghanistan. This post isn't about war, or the evils of our government.

This post is about freedom, and thought, and the choices that we all have to make. The choice to do the wrong thin because everyone else is, or to do the right thing even if it means standing alone - simply because it is the right thing to do.

If you want to know what I am talking about, stay tuned. There's more coming soon.
